In 2022, the JPOFF made a commitment to begin investing in organizations that support access to safe, affordable and stable housing. LISC’s work, both nationally and in Connecticut, focuses on developing affordable housing and building partnerships to strengthen neighborhoods by increasing resident leadership and engagement to drive local development.

The JPOFF’s first grant to LISC in 2023 will support efforts to engage and empower resident leadership, enabling residents to lead change and development within their own neighborhoods. LISC will focus on its efforts in three target neighborhoods in Hartford by working with the Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ) advisory councils in those areas.
